On Sunday, October 11, 2015, the Los Angeles Times and Hoy newspapers held their annual Latinos de Hoy Awards live from the Dolby Theatre 6801 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, CA 90028 in support of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
Actor and Humanitarian Luis Guzman from CBS Code Black was honored with the Humanitarian Award. The event host was Liz Hernandez.
Other honorees of the night were: CASTULO DE LA ROCHA for Pioneer in Health (President and CEO of AltaMed Health Services Corporation), GIOVANI DOS SANTOS for Excellence in Sports (LA Galaxy), BRICIA LOPEZ for Cultural Ambassador (Guelaguetza), DOLORES HUERTA for Civic Leadership (Dolores Huerta Foundation), EAST LOS HIGH for Advocacy In Programming (is an English-language Hulu Original that deals with the experiences of teens navigating life in a fictional inner-city high school in East Los Angeles) and RAFAEL AGUSTIN for Emerging Leader ( co-writer and co-star of the autobiographical play, “N*GGER WETB*CK CH*NK,”).
Some of the presenters were Myrka Dellanos, Edward James Olmos. During the award show were performance by Jasmine V, Chiquis Rivera and many more.
The event executive director is Uriel Saenz and producer David Chavez.
The Awards afterparty was held at the OHM Nightclub Level 4 of Hollywood & Highland.
